Like to cook, or just love Southern food?  Here you will find many southern cooking recipes, along with some other great foods!  Enjoy, and be sure to try some of these great recipes out!

Let's start out with everyone's favorite, Southern Fried Chicken!

Southern Fried Chicken

4 chicken pieces  (whatever you like)

1 egg

1 cup milk

1 cup flour

Salt & Pepper to taste

Mix milk and egg together in container big enough to hold chicken pieces.  Place thawed chicken in mixture, and allow to set for about 20 or 30 minutes in refrigerator.

Mix flour, salt and pepper (and Greek seasoning if you like) in paper bag.  Shake a little to mix ingredients.

When ready to fry, place 1 inch of oil in iron skillet.  Let preheat on medium until hot.

Put egg & milk coated chicken into bag of flour.  Shake gently until chicken is coated.

Place chicken in iron skillet, let cook for 15 minutes.  Turn chicken over, let cook for 15 minutes more.

You're done!  Walla - wasn't that easy?  And it's absolutely DELICIOUS.  Who said frying chicken is hard?  Not with this recipe!

Ham & Veggies One Pot Meal

1 Ham Steak or large piece of ham

2 medium potatoes

2 yellow squash

1 med onion

1/2 head cabbage

In large pot, add about 1 inch of water.  Slice potatoes, squash and onion into 1/4 to 1/2 inch slices.  Layer veggies in pot, starting with potatoes, then squash, then onion.  Place cabbage wedges on this, and top with ham steak.  Boil on medium heat for about 10 to 15 minutes, then simmer for 5 minutes or until veggies are tender.  Drain excess liquid out of pot before serving.

This is so easy, and absolutely DELICIOUS!  Plus, you save on dirty dishes.  As with just about everything I cook, I add a little Greek Seasoning - love the stuff!
